Data Governance Manager

DLG is building a modern Data Platform and a new Engineering organisation under the CIO. To succeed, we need a Data Governance Manager who can establish the foundations for trusted, highquality and wellmanaged data across the Group.

About the role
As Data Governance Manager, you will lead the enterprise-wide governance setup that ensures our data becomes a strategic asset. You will implement governance tooling, activate data ownership roles across business domains, and ensure clear standards for data quality, metadata, lineage and access control. 

You will work closely with Group IT, BI, data stewards and business owners to embed governance in our systems, integrations and platforms. This role is central to the ReGen transformation program, to the success of the new Data
Platform and for DLG to become a data driven company.

Key responsibilities
This role includes contributing to data quality tracking, supporting governance awareness across the organisation, and ensuring that governance risks are raised when relevant.

In this role you will be responsible for tasks such as:

• Develop and implement DLG’s data governance operating model
• Implement tooling for metadata, lineage, cataloguing and data quality
• Activate and support key data across domains
• Govern priority data domains and drive quality improvements
• Embed governance standards in system design with Group IT and integration teams
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data engineering and BI

What we are looking for
We value strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders, as well as the capacity to create clarity and structure across business and IT.

We imagine that you bring experience and capabilities such as:

• 6+ years of experience in data governance or data management
• Experience with metadata/lineage/catalog tools (Unity Catalog, Purview, Collibra,
  Alation)
• Strong knowledge of access governance, RBAC, IAM, and cloud policy enforcement
• Experience leading cross-functional data or governance teams
• Ability to create structure and drive adoption of governance processes
