Senior Solution Architect Trading IT

Do you want to help build our future trading IT backbone? 

We are looking for a (Senior-) Solution Architect to strengthen our Trading IT landscape foundation. In this highly operational role, you will support the Lead Trading IT in shaping and delivering the solution architecture across the trading data platform, trade execution and capture systems, as well as on the interface to e.g., CRM and ERP solutions. 

This will be a core contribution to our DLG group-wide program ReGen to modernize how we run our business, improving competitiveness and strengthening our commercial muscle on a global scale. 

This position combines deep technical trading IT design ownership with active collaboration across business, IT, and vendor stakeholders. You will ensure architectural consistency, quality, and alignment as we build modern, flexible, scalable, integrated, and maintainable solutions that enable trading excellence 

Key Responsibilities 

• Analyze and transfer business processes and requirements into IT solutions with well-defined global standard processes 

• Own and evolve the Trading IT solution architecture spanning pre-trade, trade execution/capture across systems, risk and pricing solutions, and position management, leveraging data & analytics platforms and core systems 

• Strengthen the interface to data and analytics platforms: define ingestion and transformation patterns, data product concepts, data quality rules, and how trading data lands in the Azure/Databricks-based cloud platform 

• Establish data pipelines for P&L, positions, pricing, valuation and optimization for trading with specific data quality guardrails 

• Design target-state blueprints for the Trading IT architecture, aligned with enterprise architecture and strategic objectives 

• Lead technical solution assessments and vendor selection for trading IT landscape solutions, e.g., for risk management, position management, pricing, trade execution, and reporting 

• Ensure software architecture is implemented in accordance with the architectural vision, guiding principles, and the IT Trading strategy 

• Maintain comprehensive architecture artifacts that clearly illustrate the current and future state of the business and technology landscape 

• Define and promote architectural standards and common approaches to drive consistency and enable business value delivery 

• Lead technical solution assessments and vendor selection to ensure alignment with long-term architectural requirements 

• Coordinate and oversee external implementation partners from an architectural and quality assurance perspective, working closely with system integrators and other third parties 

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to govern architecture decisions across Trading IT systems and projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and strategic intent 
   

KPIs and Success Criteria 

• Architecture blueprints delivered and signed off in line with transformation program milestones, enabling the overall Trading ambition 

• Trading capture solution designs aligned with enterprise IT and ready for implementation 

• Establishment of architectural guardrails, ensuring reuse, scalability, and compliance 
   

What we are looking for 

• Proven experience in solution or enterprise architecture (5+ years) with focus on commodity trading 

• Ability to translate Trading & Risk requirements into technical solution design 

• Strong system integration expertise across CTRM, data platforms, and ERP systems 

• Hands-on experience designing data platforms for trading, risk, and P&L (experience in energy and commodities a plus), including integrations with ERP, CTRM systems 

• Proven and up to date understanding of modern data architecture components including Azure cloud platform solutions 

• Experience working with and overseeing external implementation vendors 

• Solid understanding of architecture governance, quality assurance, and technical delivery processes 

• A delivery-oriented, collaborative, and structured mindset 

• Flexibility to travel to other work locations such as Fredericia, Denmark; Flensburg or Osterrönfeld, Germany 
   

You will report to the Head of Business Applications and be based in Fredericia, Denmark; Flensburg or Osterrönfeld, Germany.
